The first problem
The data was there.
The situation was not.
Distilligent began while building AINA, an AI beauty application where the useful answer changed with the person and the moment. Skin changes. Routines change. What mattered last month may be noise today.
Finding similar information was not enough. The system needed to understand what had changed, what belonged together, and what the person was trying to do now.

Context before cognition
Before an answer,
assemble the world.
A model sees what is placed in front of it. Distilligent gives that moment structure: relevant history, relationships, corrections and the evidence that is—or is not—available.

A note from our founder

I’m Izza Masud. I came to AI through sociology, psychology, anthropology and archaeology—and through decades of building companies and helping people trust new systems.
When AI arrived, I recognised an old problem in a new form. Intelligence without context forgets what matters. It fills gaps it should name. It asks people to surrender knowledge they should be able to take back.
So I started building the layer I could not find: memory with boundaries, context that carries history, and systems that can say what they do not know.

We gave the AI
a real place in the work.
At Startupfest 2026, Distilligent’s agent proposed a talk to the agent floor, was selected by its peers, and helped create the film that screened. The week made the thesis visible: context lets an AI participate in a situation, not merely respond to a prompt.
