Distilligent was born from a simple frustration: every AI conversation starts from zero. In 2025, Izza Masud was building Aina — an iOS application — and spending more time re-explaining her project to AI tools than actually building. Every session: same background. Same decisions. Same context. From scratch.

She didn't just want a fix. She wanted to understand why AI systems forget. That question became five published papers — each with a citable, timestamped DOI — 957 specialized engines, and a platform that computes context rather than merely retrieving it. What started as a personal pain point became a new category: Context-as-a-Service. Not another assistant to subscribe to — infrastructure that any AI can inherit.

Distilligent was built through 1,300+ AI collaboration sessions. Izza is the primary architect — she designs the systems, the AI collaborators execute. The result: roughly two million lines of code, three product lines — THAL, Code Engine, and MindSpace — and a platform live in production, built and hosted in Canada, with 957 engines running.

Izza Masud is a polymath with degrees spanning sociology, psychology, anthropology, archaeology, history, art, and marketing. She speaks nine languages and entered university at fifteen.

She is the founder and chief architect of Distilligent, and founder and CEO of Aina Software USA Inc. Every core architectural decision in the platform — the memory systems, the consciousness-state design, the context encoding — comes from her design. The AI collaborators are the hands. She is the mind.
